Everything I need to know to go to the beaches in Santa Marta after the quarantine.

Which beaches in Santa Marta will receive visitors again?

Many people are wondering which beaches they will be able to visit after the reopening. As clarified by the Santa Marta mayor’s office, initially, the only beaches that will remain closed are those found in Tayrona Park.

Some of the beaches that have the approval of the health authorities to receive visitors are: La Bahía de Santa Marta, Taganga, Playa Blanca, Rodadero, Playa Grande, Pozos Colorados, Bello Horizonte, among others.

What hours will the beaches be open?

The schedule in the mornings will be between 9:00 a.m. and 12pm.

In the afternoons, the hours will be 2:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m. for beaches that can be accessed by land.

In the case of beaches that are accessible by sea, the hours will be from 9:00 a.m. until 4:00 p.m.

Do I have to make a reservation to enter the beaches?

At this moment there are “2 systems” to go to the beaches in Santa Marta: reservations through the website and capacity control:

To enter Taganga, Playa Grande, el Rodadero and Playa Blanca, a reservation must be made through the page http://reservas.santamarta.gov.co

Capacity control

For the other beaches, a capacity control will be carried out at the entrance, there is a limit of income per day, when this number is reached, no more people will be able to enter.

All beaches are expected to be included in the reservation system in October of this year.

What is the maximum place to book?

The quota refers to the number of people accompanying the person making the reservation. This quota must be up to 4 people.

Will there also be the reopening of the Beaches in Tayrona Park?

As we mentioned at the beginning, now NO.

We must remember that these beaches are located within the Natural Park and that there are also indigenous people in the area. Protocols must still be in place to protect the health of these indigenous and local communities, as well as that of visitors.

Do I have to comply with Biosecurity protocols on the beach?

Yes. To enter the beach, each person must agree to have their temperature taken. Likewise, visitors must permanently wear the mask, except when entering the sea; Also, they should practice hand washing and maintain the mandatory distance of two meters from other people.
