This tour is the most adventurous and intense option to visit the Lost City of Tayronas, perfect for those who enjoy hiking, and intense walks surrounded by lush nature.

DAY 1
SANTA MARTA – EL MAMEY – CAMP 1
It all begins around 9:30 am at Expotur’s office where we take a 4×4 truck for a 2 ½ hour journey to the Mamey region.
We’ll stop for lunch before embarking on the search for the sacred site of the Tayronas (ancient inhabitants of the Lost City).
In the afternoon, we’ll arrive at Camp 1, where we’ll find rivers, natural pools, and waterfalls for moments of relaxation. We’ll have dinner and hammocks prepared for a restful night’s sleep.
DAY 2
CAMP 1 – CAMP 3
We start the day with an early breakfast and begin our hike through the Buritaca River valley, passing numerous homes that make up the Kogui indigenous village called Mutanshi.
Our journey today takes about 7 hours as we trek through the Sierra Nevada jungle, encountering diverse flora and fauna along the way. Finally, we reach Camp 3 where we eat, rest, and spend the night.
DAY 3
CAMP 3 – CIUDAD PERDIDA – CAMP 2
We start early with breakfast to begin our ascent toward our destination.
We begin by climbing 1,200 steps, a path built by the Tayrona themselves, and finally, arrive at the long-awaited Ciudad Perdida.
Once there, our guide will show us around and provide information about the magical place filled with relics and ancestral stories.
We will spend the morning enjoying the scenery and have ample time to rest and take photographs. Finally, we will have lunch and retrace our steps back to Camp 2 where we will have dinner and spend the night.
DAY 4
CAMP 2 – EL MAMEY
The final day of the adventure starts with breakfast and then we begin the journey back to where it all began.
We finally arrive at El Mamey where we have lunch and the 4×4 vehicle awaits us to take us back to the city of Santa Marta.
We are expected to arrive at around 5:00 p.m. having fully enjoyed a rewarding new experience in the magical Sierra Nevada de Santa Marta.

Make sure to wear comfortable and lightweight clothing, shoes suitable for walking on rocky and slippery terrain, a backpack with the essential items, and an open and curious attitude to fully enjoy this extraordinary experience.
