The Pools of the Guejar have become one of the most visited tourist places in the Department of Meta; all this due to its beautiful landscapes, crystal clear waters, its gastronomy, its people, among other aspects.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Where are the Guejar Pools?<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

The natural pools of the\nGuejar River are located in Lejan\u00edas, a municipality located approximately 128\nkm from Villavicencio, the capital of Meta.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

How to get to the Pools of the Guejar?<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

To get to the Piscinas del Guejar<\/strong> the first thing you need to do is go to Villavicencio.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In Villavicencio you can hire the transport service to Lejan\u00edas; either by bus, chiva rumbera<\/em> (typical transport vehicle in Colombia) or van. When you decide on which vehicle to go, you should keep in mind that it will be a trip of at least 3 hours.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

When you have arrived in the\nFar, you will have to hire a 4 \u00d7 4 truck service to reach the Pools of the\nGuejar. It is necessary to go in this type of vehicles, since this part of the\nroute does not have a paved road.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

What is the best time of the year to go?<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

If you really want to appreciate the landscape, our recommendation is that you avoid going to the Pools of the Guejar<\/strong> in the rainy season. In addition of being cloudy, the water flow will be stronger and it will be risky to bathe in the river. On the other hand, in the rainy season, the access road is more complicated.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Can I sleep in the Pools of the Guejar?<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

You cannot camp on the\nriverbank; however, there are tourist farms where you can stay. Search the\ninternet for opinions of other travelers, and choose the place that suits your\nneeds and budget.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

To go to the Pools of the\nGuejar it is important that you keep in mind:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

– Have sunscreen and other\nprotective elements such as sunglasses, caps or hats.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

– Insect repellent you can not\nmiss.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

– Camera, with enough battery\nand memory.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

– It is also recommended to be\nvaccinated against yellow fever and tetanus vaccine.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
