Just 24 kilometers northeast of the capital; that is why many travelers stay in Armenia and visit the Valley for only one day.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>How to get to Cocora Valley?<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img fetchpriority=\"high\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"960\" height=\"640\" src=\"https:\/\/expotur-eco.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/03\/valle-de-cocora-como-llegar.jpg\" alt=\"Cocora Valley\" class=\"wp-image-5853\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>The first thing to do to get to this wonderful place full of ecosystem is going through Salento (<strong>Quind\u00edo<\/strong>), a municipality that is only 26 kilometers from <strong>Armenia<\/strong>. Once in the town, you take a car (there are willyz services &#8211; typical transportation in the region), to the <strong>Cocora Valley<\/strong>. The cost of the ticket is 4,500 per person.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Important facts about the Cocora Valley<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>During the government of President Belisario Betancur, the creation of the <strong>natural sanctuary<\/strong> was proposed with the purpose of preserving the emblematic wax palm and all endemic fauna and flora species; for this reason, the excessive care and control of visitors since 1985.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Its charm: its fauna and flora<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img decoding=\"async\" width=\"960\" height=\"639\" src=\"https:\/\/expotur-eco.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/03\/valle-de-cocora.jpg\" alt=\"Cocora Valley\" class=\"wp-image-5852\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>As we said before, the Cocora Valley is home to 85% of the <strong>wax palm<\/strong> population throughout Colombia. In addition to this, it has a number of tree species such as the Romer\u00f3n pine, seven-eyed, arnica and the frailej\u00f3n.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>As for the fauna, wonderful species such as the Andean tapir, the spectacled bear, the puma, the yellow-eared parrot, the celestial toucan, the Andean condor and the hummingbird are housed here.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Cocora Valley Weather<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>It has a humid climate, which is ideal for its cloud forest ecosystem. It rains almost daily in this place and its average temperature is 15 \u00b0 C, with a maximum of 25 \u00b0 C and a minimum of 12 \u00b0 C.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Activities you can do in Cocora Valley<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img decoding=\"async\" width=\"960\" height=\"640\" src=\"https:\/\/expotur-eco.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/03\/salento-valle-de-cocora.jpg\" alt=\"Cocora Valley\" class=\"wp-image-5854\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>Most activities\ncan be done around the valley, where there are areas to receive adventurers.\nAmong the favorite activities of visitors is to picnic as a family plan; the\ncampsite is also ideal for those who are more risky and prefer to surround\nthemselves with nature than go to sleep in a hotel.<strong><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Every hour groups leave for ecological walks, as well as cycling throughout the area and there are horseback riding services.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Recommendations<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>&#8211; Wear walking\nshoes. The most comfortable you have, since the complete walking tour lasts 6\nto 7 hours.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&#8211; Go prepared for\nany weather change.
