It is a beautiful little crowded beach, not because it is a place without any attributes, but because few tourists enter this area and prefer to choose the main or best known beaches of Riohacha-Guajira<\/strong>. Mayapo is one of those places that is worth going to know; a resort of natives and tourists, which, being a little visited place, becomes a very clean and extremely quiet beach.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

For only 5.000 pesos they transport you in an intermunicipal bus from the market square of Riohacha<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Make the tour to Cabo de la\nVela or the tour to Punta Gallinas and Cabo de la Vela.<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n

This is an option that requires more time and has a higher cost, but that is totally worth it, since it is more complete and you have the opportunity to know different places in La Guajira<\/strong>. The first thing you will notice is the Way\u00fau indigenous<\/strong> who are along the beach offering their handicrafts, which are very famous and sought after by foreigners, as they are unique ambulant master pieces and catch a lot the attention in other countries.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Whenever you go to tropical areas do not forget to bring<\/strong>:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

– Sun block for\nboth body and face.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

– Anti mosquito\nlotion or after mosquito bites gel.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

– Pills for\nheadache, which is very common due to the intense sun and hot weather. Remember\nthat you should always ask for your doctor’s advice and not self-medicate.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

– Many carry the\nwell-known “acetate of aluminum” or aluminum hydroxide to be applied\nat night and thus relieve burning in the skin by long exposure to the sun;<\/p>\n\n\n\n

– It is more than\nessential to wear a cap and sunglasses; a good pair of sandals or special beach\nshoes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
